It is energy efficient, which means lower operating costs, and as there is no starter or ballast, the isolated circuitry eliminates voltage spikes. The Spa Eclipse™ chip is also water resistant and generates substantially less heat than UV systems. The viewing window allows you to see the CD energy field. Unlike UV Lamps that falsely indicate that there is still ozone, the CD Chip diminishes its glow when a replacement chip is needed at 9,000 hours.
